Glutathione: Skin and Overall Health Benefits

Glutathione is an amino acid found in every living cell of any organism. It is known to be the Master Antioxidant, since it protects the body from a huge number of diseases or illnesses.
This master antioxidant is present in all our cells, but as we grow older, the level of Glutathione in our system depletes. This depletion is mainly because of stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, drug use, environmental hazards, and food chemicals, which can be all really harmful to us.

To date, Glutathione is more popularly known as a skin whitening agent. But, in earlier times, it is known to fight or prevent health conditions such as:

  • Infertility
  • Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
  • Cancers
  • Cataracts
  • Thyroid problems
  • Liver problems
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Heart disease especially those with LDL or bad cholesterol
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Alzheimer disease
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Arteriosclerosis

According to studies, there is no known negative side effect linking to the use of Glutathione. Maybe except for one… but for most people, this side effect is not negative at all. The only known Glutathione side effect is…. skin whitening.

Aside from its whitening effect, Glutathione also helps the skin achieve a youthful glow. In addition, this antioxidant makes pores finer, improves skin hyperpigmentations, keeps skin smoother and clearer, helps control acne and defies aging process.
