Olay Natural White Review

This Olay Natural White Review is a bit overdue. I've been using the combo (day cream and night cream) for almost a year now. Hey, better late than never, right? So here's my two cents:

My Mahal, knowing I loooove moisturizers, brought me 3 jars each of Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness day and night creams ~~for~~ from KSA. I was using Pond's Whitening Fluid back then (I was using it for about 9 years, seriously..totally no visible whitening results...I don't know why haven't switch back then).

So, my face care routine is simple: Kojie San Soap every time I wash my face, about three times a day (I know, it was supposed to irritate my skin if I use it that much, but I guess after 3 years of using it, my skin got used to it..no sting at all); then I'll just follow it with my Olay face cream. Of course, when the sun's up, it's got to be the day cream; at night, then it's the night cream.

The day cream is a tad thicker in consistency compared with the night cream, which is a little liquid-y. I love the coverage of both variants. They are really different, though. The day cream will leave your face with a matte coat, but it is not powdery. It's velvety smooth but less shiny than the night cream. I could say that the day cream is really an ideal make up base (if you 'll call my baby powder/blush/EOS lip balm 'makeup').

The day cream never, as in NEVER, made my face look oily. Actually, the frequency of my "retouches" was down to the all-time low. I am always fresh all day, no oily nose or forehead. Nada. Not to mention that it also has SPF 24, so sulit talaga.

The night cream has the same effect on me. After 3 months of using the night cream, I developed this habit to look at the mirror just before washing my face. I know it's a bit kadiri, but sometimes when I'm really satisfied with how my skin looks, I don't wash my face at all...until I take a bath. Hehe.

Fast forward to November 2011. I've said earlier that I've been using Olay Natural White for almost a year now. My skin is noticeably lighter, and dark spots are significantly minimized. No fine lines! (I can actually hear myself like I was Kris Aquino talking, haha) My 3 jars of day cream ran out about three months ago, so I've been using the one that's bought here in the Philippines. I am actually using the one in sachet, since I can't find Olay Natural White in Jar. I am on my last jar of the night cream. I don't know if I'll be able to buy it here in the Philippines, though.

Here in the Philippines, the price of a 50g jar of Natural White Day Cream is around Php350. My Tita in the U.S. said she haven't heard of it there, but I saw one on Amazon.com, but it's a lot more expensive, I guess it's around $25.

So, if you want to try Olay Natural White, then go for it. Just don't expect to see visible results within two-three weeks. They might claim it works that fast, but I guess that's almost impossible. But, go on...try Olay Natural White Healthy Fairness now!

What are the Best Stretch Mark Treatments?

Stretch marks or striae are linear scars that develop when your skin is stretched out excessively, too quickly. When your skin stretches, this causes damage on the skin’s three layers (epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layer). They are common to pregnant women or those who have gained too much weight. Sometimes, teenagers having hormonal surges also develop these unattractive scars.

EOS: The Best Lip Balm I've Ever Tried

I have this previous post about where to buy EOS lip balm here in the Philippines; I created that post without even knowing how well EOS works!

I have had this dry smoochies problem since forever, and I've tried lots of balms to sooth my dry lips.
From ChapSticks to Burt's Bees, from petroleum jelly to EVOO, I've tried them all. My most recent lip balm before EOS was Venus & Mars' lip balm (with emu oil), which most users claim to be REALLY effective against chapping and dryness..but I guess it just didn't work for me.

Glutathione Injection Not Legal---FDA

My guests here on this blog have one thing in common: the dream to have a fairer skin. Some of them must have resorted to various skin whitening treatments, including injectable glutathione. But what should they do now that FDA announced that glutathione injectables are not legal?

I am wondering how could we get an injection of glutathione from reputable clinics when it is not FDA-approved? Injectable glutathione has been out for years, and it is even endorsed by popular stars (remember Bangs Garcia on TV while getting IV glutathione dosage? ). How come we heard no warning from Food and Drug Administration about this before? They should have told us (on TV) 'Hey, those IV glutathione shots are not proven safe.' But there is no warning.

We, consumers, are waiting for the FDA's test results.

Magic Milk Essence Whitening Beauty Series: Reviews Anyone?

The product is called Magic Milk Essence Whitening Beauty Series. The name sounds tacky for me. I discovered later that the reason why it is called "series" is because there are lots of whitening products under this brand name. There's the lotion, the toner, face cream, sunblock and so on.

It claims to whiten the skin instantly. The question is: How does it do that? I can only imagine feeling sticky and all because I think it is some kind of a mask (masking me with white stuff... like glue?) Hmmm.... since we haven't seen any reviews about it, then all we can do is guess. 'Coz I ain't trying it, baby!

Well, I don't think this Magic Milk Essence Whitening Beauty Series can be purchased from drugstores like Watson's or Mercury Drug. But if you happen to see this line of whitening product on the local drugstores, kindly share it with us.

How to Whiten Dark Elbows and Knees

Beauty lies on the eyes of the beholder. And in a country like the Philippines, “white is beautiful”. That’s primarily the reason why most of the popular beauty products that hit the market in the Philippines contain the so-called whitening ingredients such as papaya extracts and just recently, glutathione.

But what is glutathione? Is it really a whitening treatment? How does it work?

Our body is composed of cells. And these cells are damaged by the free radicals present in our environment like the pollutants in the air that we breathe and the foods that we eat. We need antioxidants to fight the free radicals. And glutathione is a substance that acts as an antioxidant, immune system booster and detoxifier. I’ve been taking oral Glutathione supplement for a month now. How long will it take for me to have a noticeably whiter complexion?

I don’t use moisturizer unless it is cold season. Don’t get me wrong, I do have facial moisturizer but I only use it on cold weather because my skin tends to be flaky at low temperatures. Moreover, I am well aware of the benefits a moisturizer can do to our skin. Read on and you’ll know why.

Dermatology 101
Epidermis, the top most layer of our skin, consists of stratum basale, stratum spinosum, stratum granulosm and stratum corneum. Stratum corneum is mainly responsible for keeping our skin hydrated and moisturized. The lipids in stratum corneum naturally attract water from air and serve as a barrier to retain the water thus generating natural moisturizing factor. Failure to hold and retain water, our skin will be withered and can be visibly seen as dry or flaky. With that said, it is the basic purpose of moisturizers to keep our skin from drying out.

Understanding Your Skin
Don’t go rushing to the nearest department stores or cosmetics outlets once you hear new products are out. Come on, let go of impulsive buying habit before you regret it. Tell you what, understanding your skin makes a whole lot of difference and it also saves you from draining your pockets.

Skin types can range from normal, dry, oily or sensitive. You can easily assess your skin at normal temperatures. A normal skin which maintains moisture balance may or may not use moisturizers depending on your preference. If you feel like having one, use water-based or light moisturizers. For dry skin, it is best to use oil-based or heavy creams. Those with oily skin are most likely prone to acne so look for noncomedogenic moisturizers. If you’re always out in direct sunlight, look for moisturizers with sunscreen protection. UV rays from sun are a very good catalyst for skin aging, worst for skin cancer. Don’t let Mr. Sun get in your way. Dermatologists strongly recommend the use of sunscreen. Use moisturizers with sun protection factor of at least 15.

Whatever you skin type is, always remember to use products that are gentle to your skin. You don’t want skin irritation, do you? And please (I am saying this because I know a few who do this) never use body moisturizers onto your face!

Like all Glutathione brands, Saluta is an anti-oxidant, and claims to whiten skin and give skin a glow. The difference of Saluta IV is, it's an injectable! (read I V is intravenous). Some dermatologists say that using injectable glutathione is more effective than the oral ones. Because when you inject it, it will directly enter the bloodstream unlike with the oral ones, which is said to be absorbed by the body only partially.

For those looking for a Saluta IV seller online, you can check Multiply sites that specializes in whitening tablets and other beauty products. Just make sure that you'll buy the authentic ones. I don't know how we can distinguish authentic to fake ones. Maybe the best way is to buy Saluta from your dermatologist but I'm sure it would be more expensive.

Well, this is not a review but only a product feature. I've been reading many things about Tathion 307 lately. Some says that it is more effective than PH338 but some are claiming that the latter is still more effective.

Tathion 307 is also manufactured in Japan, like PH338, this is a very powerful and effective form of glutathione.

Here are some of the properties that Tathion 307 claims:

1.) Improves pigmentation of the skin such as melasma, scars, improper chemical peel and post chicken pox.

2.) It helps the skin look smoother and achieve even color.

3.) It is an anti-oxidant and enhances liver function.

Glutathione can whiten the skin in as short as 2 months, once you get your desired result, maintain it by taking Tathion 307 once a day.

Heard of this "wonder cream" St. Dalfour? It usually comes with St. Dalfour soap when you buy it from online sellers
and priced from P1,500 to P2,000 per jar. This post is not an actual review, but a compilation of reviews (negative and positive) from some Multiply blogs. I've seen St. Dalfour cream being sold like chocolate chip hotcakes by Multiply sellers and I've read some feedbacks about it.

St. Dalfour Cream claims to whiten, moisturize and even out skin tone. I can't find any official product facts about this cream but sellers say that St. Dalfour cream is imported from Kuwait. I visited stdalfourcream.net but I can't find any facts about the ingredients of the said cream.

I created this post because I stumbled upon some user's review regarding St. Dalfour cream. Some say that this is really effective, clears up their acne, whiten the skin and even filled up their wrinkles. In short, the cream worked for them.

But some users have experienced negative effects. Instead of clearing up their bumps, it worsened. RAshes appeared and some say their skin stung. I've seen their pictures and I can say that it really is the worst skin reaction I've seen.

Sellers admit that they cannot tell if a St. Dalfour Cream is a fake or authentic. But they assured me that once you used the real one, it can really make your skin beautiful. But how can we tell if it is the original St. Dalfour Cream and not a fake? Will we risk our skin and wait if there's an adverse effect or a positive result? I hope somebody will clear this issue for my readers. A lot of people are asking me about St. Dalfour Cream but I do not know what to tell them.

Are you familiar with "White Henna"? I know one brand of white henna available here in the Philippines. It is called Marquee White Henna. Marquee White Henna is widely available and is very cheap. Want to know how to whiten skin using white henna bleaching formula?
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to bleach your skin using white henna, soap chips, hydrogen peroxide and ammonia.

1. Use a plastic spoon and container in mixing the ingredients.
2. Pour one pack of Marquee White Henna and one pack of soap chips into the plastic bowl.
3. Pour hydrogen peroxide and continuously stir until a creamy and puffy consistency is achieved.
4. Add 4 drops of ammonia. Stir well.
5. Apply first to any inconspicuous body part, somewhere not easily noticeable, say, your elbow or knee, in order to test your skins sensitivity to the formula. Once you are sure that you are not experiencing any severe reaction, apply the formula from neck to toe.
6. Leave the mixture on your body for 30 minutes.
7. Rinse well with lukewarm water to allow the skins pores to open and absorb moisture. Towel dry.

Apply once every day for 7 straight days. Then twice a week only for the next consecutive weeks. For maintenance, apply once a month. After every application, apply moisturizing lotion and when going out, you have to use a body lotion with sunscreen.

DO NOT add ammonia to the solution if you intend to use it on your face.

KSA Magic Soap has 3 main whitening ingredients: Kojic Acid, Placenta and Glutathione.
To be able to do this product review, I requested 3 friends to use it for a month. They are all light-skinned to start with, but they have several sun spots, dark spots and their skin tone uneven.

Let's name my friends f1, f2, and f3 :)

f1: KSA Magic Kojic Acid with Placenta and Glutathione really helped in making my skin smoother. It peels away dead skin cells, and with every use, you will see that your skin is shedding lightly. Though, I find the soap a bit harsh on my skin, and it made my skin dry. But dryness and irritation can be soothed by moisturizing lotion (I used Jergen's Ultra-healing). After a month of use, my skin was fairer, and my freckles are gone!

f2: I guess the ingredients really work well together. Imagine Kojic acid, placenta and glutathione all rolled into one formula! I never imagined I will be lighter! You see that my skin was white, but not it is even whiter and rosier. The downside is, it seemed that I became sensitive to sunlight. I burn easily whenever I tried going out without umbrella or any sun protection. I guess using sunblock will help. But all in all, the soap is great, and it doesn't dry up my skin.

f3: From day 1, my skin started to peel. I always make sure that I use sunblock lotion before I go out. And I always moisturize and moisturize, because if not, my peeling skin looks like scales. I became whiter in just a month but already dry skin became really aggravated. I recommend this to those who have oily to normal skin.

Back when I read PIMS for fun, I already knew what Duromine is. Duromine is a prescription
drug for obese people. Read it again: PRESCRIPTION. It means you cannot and must not purchase it without a doctor's approval.

I was very surprised when my Multiply contacts were posting notes re: they're selling Duromine weight loss pill. Woah. They're selling these pills like they're selling shirts and make ups! But what's with this Duromine that creates this hype and even starts this illegal selling?

Duromine is a brand of Penthermine, an anti-obesity drug known to suppress appetite, thus helping an obese person to lose weight. Duromine or any Penthermine brands should only be taken by those with BMI (Body Mass Index) of 27 and above. Duromine is not recommended for children 16 and below. Duromine comes in 2 dosages: the 15 mg and 30 mg.

It is a proven effective weight-loss pill, but still, it shouldn't be sold online like a pair of earrings. Buyers beware, you should only take Duromine if your doctor prescribed it. Talk to your doctor if you really think you need it.

BBB or Better Business Bureau warns consumers about advertisements/sellers of teeth whitening products online. They say consumers must be aware of these especially those who are offering teeth whitening treatments for free trials. BBBs around America have received a number of complaints from consumers who thought they were signing up for a free trial of teeth whitening products but were repeatedly billed for products and services they didn't want.

William Truscott of Plainfield, IL fell victim to this scam:"I got an e-mail about free samples of a teeth whitening product. I printed the offer and it did not say anywhere that you had to sign up for monthly shipments. I got a bill for $70 and said-wait a minute-- and called them. They told me that I signed up for this. I had saved the ad and it does not say this anywhere. I said that I wanted credit for the samples. They stopped the shipments and the bills but I did not get credit."

Another victim, Ann Thoele of Elmhurst, IL said: "I ordered the free sample by phone for what was supposed to be $1.99. I was billed for around $78 that I never expected. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General and my credit card company. I really don't intend to pay."

Better Business Bureau has identified some of the companies that are behind these teeth whitening websites:

Dazzle White, White Smile, Teeth Smile and Dazzle Smile- Complainants report being billed as much as $79 for the free trial and are charged for several other services-such as a weight loss program.

Ivory White- Other related companies include Ortho White and Bella Brite. Complainants say they were charged as much as $78 a month for their free trial.

BBB offers the following advice to consumers on purchasing teeth whitening products online:

Beware of supposed third-party endorsements. Be extremely cautious of any ad that links to a blog or Web site news articles. The blogs and supposed news articles were likely created by the company and are not the unbiased endorsement of real consumers or reporters.
Always read the fine print. Many Web sites offering a free trial of a teeth whitening product do not disclose the billing terms and conditions or do not have such details prominently displayed on their Web site. Before giving the company any credit or debit card information, review the Web site fully and be aware that free trials typically result in repeated billing.
Check the company out with your BBB first. Before signing up for any free trial, review the business' Reliability Report™ online at www.bbb.org to see if the BBB has identified issues with the company.

I have been hearing good things about Emu oil lately. I know Emu oil is not widely available here in the Philippines but there's one online retailer here that sells Emu oil and Emu oil-based products. Emu oil is known to have a moisturizing effect on the skin, it is also believed to be able to heal skin from fungal infections and diseases like eczema and psoriasis. I haven't tried any of Emu oil-based products but I wanted to try it on the near future. I've been very short in budget lately so I think that Emu lotion can wait. :D

It has been used for thousands of years by the Australian aborigines for the treatment of burns, wounds, bruises, and as a pain reliever for bone, muscle, and joint disorders. The largest component is oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. Emu oil also contains about 20% linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid) and 1-2% linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid). There is some evidence to suggest that the oil may have medicinal benefit.It is frequently used topically to soften skin and is found in ointments for dry cracked heels.

Sounds like a wonder oil to me. I have a very dry skin but I don't like that sticky feel creams and lotions from the US give me. The weather here in the Philippines is so hot, you won't be able to stand "healing creams". Emu oil is said to be fast-absorbed by the skin. Leaving you with no sticky feel but a very moisturized skin instead. I will definitely try Emu oil products. I'll let you know when I laid my dry hands on one of these.
