Teeth Whitening Treatment: Hydrogen Peroxide

More and more people claim that Hydrogen Peroxide is an effective teeth whitening treatment. Hydrogen Peroxide is a compound made of Hydrogen and Oxygen. This chemical is commonly used for bleaching and disinfecting. Some use it as a skin whitening agent.

How can Hydrogen Peroxide be used as a teeth whitening treatment?
Bleaching products containing Hydrogen Peroxide is absorbed through the tooth enamel and then bleach the inner part of the tooth, which is called the pulp. ADA or American Dental Association said that this teeth whitening treatment do not damage the enamel and is therefore safe.

Any side effects?
Like any other teeth whitening treatment, Hydrogen Peroxide can make your teeth temperature-sensitive.

Remember that Hydrogen Peroxide, like other teeth whitening treatment, have no effect on porcelain teeth, fillings, and other dental restorative works. Always consult your dentist when planning to have teeth whitening treatments.
